Application to exploration
The Vale da Urze Project is 100% owned by AHP Lda. and is located in the Northern Region of Portugal, covers 211km2 in the Mogadouro Municipality – Bragança District.
The Application proposal defines 350.000€ for the initial period of evaluation of 3 years, with the option of an additional extension of 2 years with additional investment.
The geology of this region is complex, with multiple deformation stages and a collision with overthrust of oceanic flor over the continental crust. Most rocks are of Silurian age, metamorphosed quartzites, greywackes with intercalation of basic and acid volcanic units.
Inside Vale de Urze property it is possible to identify from the National Archives at least 6 mineral occurrences, mainly gold and tin, with references to Copper.
One of the Tin occurrences – BRUNHOZINHO MINE had mining activity during the mid 1960s and produced 6.4t of concentrates with 70% SnO2.
Samples collected in Brunhozinho Mine (Sn) were from the waste piles in the old Mine site and from the soil (tailings) of the same operation. Returned values* that may not represent the mineralization not grater than 350ppm Sn.
A relevant result was obtained from the soils, where Sn content was higher than in rock/vein 380ppm Sn and Li values that may suggest a possible deeper source of this metal.
